A simple little origami paper trick started a new interest for me on the binding. I found a blog article with a link to a PDF file that, when are printed and folded, created a useful little 8 page expense tracking booklet that slipped into his pocket.

I found a number of other sites recently offered by different printer models and customized portable day planner pages that can be printed on your desktop. Now I want to bind a good notebook with my own templated pages inside.

There are several ways to go about making a book. The cheapest and easiest way is about the saddle book. By this method, there was a small stack of pages, along with a cover made of cardboard, put two staples along the spine to hold it together, and then fold in half. The edges of the paper do not align perfectly (a problem that is accentuated as the number of pages increases.) Alternatively, you can sew pages together with yarn instead of stapling. You can also trim the edges with a paper trimmer to match up. Many hardcovers are made great for gluing together several small stacks of pages bound in this way.

A very common method of attachment is the stack next to your pages and then paste them over the edge of the spine with a very strong glue. After the pages have dried up, a heavier weight of paper is glued to the spine as a cover. Look in your library, you'll find all paperbacks are bound this way. Since there is no folding - except the cover - the pages are easy to line and edges of the finished book are very clean. This book is known as' Perfect Bound ".

Because of its simplicity, I have chosen a perfect link for my book.

Here you step by step process of union:

1 - Stack your pages as well and in order. If you want a book with pages smaller than 8 1 / 2 x 11 inches, you can fold the pages in half and then the stack of folded pages together.

2 - Clamp the pages together along the edge of the spine. You can do this in several ways and even buy a media device if desired. I suggest some large clamps that you can get in the office supply store and a couple of paint stirrers. Place the paint stirrers along the outer edges of the vertebral column and clamp it all together. The agitators will help spread the effect of the clamps and also to prevent marking or denting the paper.

3 - Take a small piece of fine sandpaper (200 or 300 grain should work) and roughly the paper along the edge of the spine. This will expose the fibers of paper and allow the glue to adhere firmly to the paper.

4 - Glue the edges of the paper together. Use a small brush or cotton swab to spread the glue around evenly. (Gorilla Glue and Power Poxy contact cement adhesive are good options. Good old white glue, even to do the work.) Wait a few minutes and apply a second layer then let everything dry thoroughly.

5 - When the column is dry, it's time to glue on the top. Remove the clamps. Double cover with the edge of a ruler to fit perfectly around the pages. Then apply more glue to the spine and the cover. If you wish, to suppress all together again, while the glue dries.

6 - When the glue dries, remove all clamps and trim the edges of the cover with a knife shaving.

His book is complete!

This technique is perfect for photo albums, journals, collections stories and more. If you bought an electronic book you want is in the form of reference print - print and bind. Anything can print on your printer Work desk. Make gifts, or just collect his personal papers in a more substantial and powerful.
