This is one dubious question that everyone wants to ask on Google, which is the best sci-fi book of all time. This isnt really as simple as a movie where Citizen Kane would proclaim the award every time. Books are different; no two ways going about it. Everyone one has their preferences and everyone has their choices, and just because you related to a post or article on Google, doesnt make that book an all time best sci-fi book, it only makes it a # 1 book in the list of a select few who agree with such articles and blogs. I have seen many web blogs, and articles talking about top 10 or top 5 sci-fi books of all time, but remember, they are only individual choices not an all around votes. This is why the novels I will mention are not all time best novels, but are my personal choice.

My first sci-fi novel has to be 2001 Space Odyssey: This is by far the essence of human soul and existence; a path to our past, a way to know ourselves a little better.

The story of 2001 space odyssey is about a black metallic monolith being discovered on the moon, which was planted there about three million years ago by an intelligent entity. But that isnt the beginning either, the first Monolith was first planted during the early period when apes ruled the world. One morning when they discover the monolith, their DNA began to change; not by touching or praying, but by being in its presence. The advance civilization planted these monoliths for humans as a way to advance themselves during a certain period when man moved from one stage of existence to the other. I do not want to explain the entire story, but my personal fascination with human origins led me to make this my number one sci-fi book, which only leads me to my number two book.

KYIRUX: The Message of Pascal: If 2001 is Dr. J, then Kyirux has to be the MJ of its time. The torch has been passed from one great novel to the other. Kyirux follows a similar path to 2001 space odyssey, but it has taken the information of an advance civilization to a whole new level, which is much closer to us than we think. The premise of the novel revolves around a 500 hundred million year old computer which is discovered by Jack Crawford, perhaps one of my favorite characters and hero in a sci-fi novel. Jack is a very familiar face, because he is us, with the same questions, concern and attitude towards the real world. This computer not only tells us about the true origins of human, but it takes into the far beyond the reaches of the universe, and tells us what is physical matter which exists in the domain of darkness; but, what is darkness? Yes, this novel and its other parts will drive you brain to insanity, because the author is far more capable of thinking like an advance alien being than a normal reader.

Kyirux II: The Hidden History was another milestone for the author as it surpassed my expectation as a sequel which usual isnt very good; but this novel truly changed all that for me. If Kyirux one provided the essence of human existence, Kyirux two provide the seed of our intelligence.

Science fiction has inspired many movies block buster. Star Wars, Matrix and Terminator are some movies that are based on science fiction. In fact, many scientific discoveries were first imagined in science fiction literature only. The robots were deployed in children's books of fiction for the beginning of the twentieth century. Over time it became a reality during the later part of the twentieth century.

Who knows, these machines science fiction can become a part of everyday life in the not too distant future.

Kermit the Frog said "green is not easy." But these days "Going Green" is a hot topic everywhere. What is fashionable now was simply pragmatic to my grandfather generation. We seem to be coming full circle.

Earth Day, April 22, began in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, a grassroots effort to increase environmental awareness. Since then it has expanded into an international day of awareness and activism.

Here are some things you can do on Earth Day and every day to help the environment at home, at school, and neighborhood.

1. Take a 5 minute shower instead of a bath. You can save up to 2,000 gallons of water per year.

2. Turn off the tap while brushing the teeth and save 2 gallons of water.

3. Stop buying bottled water.

Up to 40% of bottled water comes from the same source as tap water, but it is sold back to consumers in hundreds of times the cost. The bottle production to meet demand from Americans need more than 17 million barrels of oil last year - enough fuel for more than 1 million U.S. cars for a year - and generated more than 2.5 million tons of dioxide carbon. Billions of these bottles end up in landfills each year. Source: thinkoutsidethebottle.org

4. Pack school lunches in reusable bags and containers washable. Use a lunchbox. Buy scarves to use as napkins. The average person generates 4.5 pounds of garbage every day. Think about the amount of packaging that is in one service container of yogurt and applesauce. How long do they really need to scoop applesauce in Tupperware? You can save money too.

5. Use cloth towels instead of paper towels. Hang your bath towel so it can be used again.

6. Share.

6. Just say no to a bag in the box. Keep reusable bags in the car for grocery shopping. Or better yet, get a handbag.

7. Plant a tree. The average tree can absorb 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

8. Plant a garden with their children. Go organic. It is a great way to teach children about caring for the earth and living organisms. Use native plants that are accustomed to their climate.

9. Start a compost pile. The winter is long and it's time to start planting. You can make your own fertilizer and reduce waste at the same time. Your garden will thank you.

10. Pick up any trash they leave behind in the park or football field.

11. Donate old clothes and toys to be transmitted and used by another person. The American half strip 68 pounds of clothing and fabrics a year.

12. Donate books to a thrift shop or used bookstore. Continue the cycle. Buy products of second hand whenever possible.

13. Turn off the TV and computer when not in use.

14. Turn off lights when leaving a room. Listen your mother. You've heard all your life.

15. Establish paper recycling containers, aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles at school and at home. The paper accounts for 40% of solid waste in the United States, which is about 72 million tons annually. Recycling reduces the amount of waste in landfills.

Source: becomegreen.info

16. Dispose of batteries. You can prevent the escape of hazardous materials in our soil and water systems.

17. Recycling obsolete electronics such as computers and televisions. Americans dispose of about 130 million mobile phones each year. That's about 65,000 tons of cell phones. Source: becomegreen.info

18. Calculate your carbon footprint. Reduce your impact on the environment. A carbon footprint measures the impact of our activities in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases we produce. You can find several online calculators. How big is yours?

Think about their effect on the environment. What can you do to protect it? Even the simplest steps can be profound. Everyone has a role to play. All you have to do is start.

"Amazon charges 55% of its Amazon Advantage program, because that's what self-published authors who are accustomed to paying the distributors." This came directly from the lips of an Amazon.com employee in a recent conference publication. From the Amazon is acting in the capacity of a distributor when an author participates in its Amazon Advantage program, 55% feel it is fair. Unfortunately for customers, not taking into account their IT processes and lower overhead (or annual cost of $ 29.95).

Firstly, what is Amazon Advantage? In short, this is a sales program that offers the largest online retailer that allows independent writers and publishers the ability of the individual book list on the website Amazon.com, thereby reaping the rewards offered by the distribution worldwide and a huge brand name. Amazon program advantage is clearly advantageous, but is it really all its paint? We will investigate the potential revenue a little more ...

For our example, let's take a 250-page book priced at $ 14.95, an average figure on Amazon. If the selling price of its book is higher or less, you will need to adjust the numbers in this example accordingly. Amazon has 55% of its retail price of the upper right, leaving a amount of $ 6.73. In order for them to sell their book, they need to access it, which means you have to mail it to them. On average, applications 2.3 Books from Amazon at the same time (3 weeks of inventory, "according to this source of the Amazon.) Never mind that e 2 books from Amazon costs about the same that 6 of mail, you will be investing time and postage costs to perform three different shipments, each of them eating at their profit margin.

Let to be fair and say shipping and handling cost per book is $ 2. At present, it is probably higher if you factor in your hourly rate recording box and travel to the post office. That leaves you with $ 4.73 per book. Now factor in the cost of printing. How to book the cost of printing with a printer off-set? It depends on your circulation, of course, but let's be generous and say that only costs $ 1.50, excluding shipping costs for you. Yes, this method has to pay twice for transportation, which is no different from paying taxes twice. And who wants to do that?

In this scenario you are left with generous $ 3.23 profit plus the headache of sending books, inventory management and cost accounting. Would you like to your reserve list with Barnes & Noble.com, Powells.com, BAMM.com, and elsewhere, but who has time? Amazon is already too far from the best time spent writing and advocacy. Presentation 20% of the Amazon listings with On-Demand

What if an issue in the demand for his book might generate more profits with less work?

Thanks to new printing technology and inventory management software, custom publishing demand Outskirts Press can publish an edition in demand for his book and make it available on Amazon for just 20%. Inventory, transportation, billing and production are conducted by Outskirts Press and its wholesale partners. Take the same 250-page paperback book with a retail price of $ 14.95. A 20% discount leaves you with $ 11.96 (instead of the $ 6.73 Amazon Advantage program). Of course, the cost of production in the demand is higher (at a cost of $ 6.65 per book with Outskirts Press Diamond 'Pack). $ 11.96 less $ 6.65 leaves you with $ 5.31 profit. No additional printing pocket or shipping since all that is handled behind the scenes from Outskirts Press and its partners. You are making $ 5.31 for each book sold on Amazon instead of $ 3.23. Besides they are saved the hassle of inventory, transport, billing, estimating the circulation, and the payment of interest and overhead. More benefits. Less risk. How do Outskirts Press? Through an inventory management system known as EDI.

What is EDI?

EDI is to electronic data exchange. The data transfer between enterprises across networks and the Internet. As more and more companies connect to the Internet, EDI is becoming increasingly important as a mechanism easier for companies to buy, sell, and trade information. Amazon computerized system can manage sales and inventory with little human intervention, especially when talking about one computer to another. How it works

When you place an order from Amazon, EDI communicates the requests through partners Outskirts Press wholesale and the book is produced. The waiting time according to Amazon's own website is 24 hours. Why the fall in supply of EDI so substantially? Amazon preferred to deal with 1 wholesaler via EDI handling of thousands of books with thousands of authors through e-mail handling 1.2 Books. Algebra Help Question?

A bookseller at prices determined that the supply curve more recent paperback by a particular author is p = 1/300x 13. The demand curve of this book is p =-. 03X 9. How much sales would translate into a demand supply exactly, and why price is due sell the book? I tried to write the equations in my TI 83 and then click the 2nd follow-up but said there was a problem with the sign change. I'm not exactly sure what to do and if there is a good way to get this response not only using the calculator that is not too hard to do, then I would like to know that way too. Thank you!

///// 1/300x =-. 13 03X 9 solve for x

What is the best way to sell used textbooks to college?

I have some college textbooks used in my first year of college? What is the best place to sell? Do not say the college bookstore, because that place is an absolute scam. I was thinking of selling at Amazon. Does anyone disagree? Is there anything better to sell on web? Does it costs money to sell items on eBay? EBay is better than Amazon? I need a little input.

Half.com've sold many of my college textbooks and also purchased textbooks there. The process is simple and give a stipend for transportation so that it covers most if not all costs of shipment and half.com also has a small percentage of their income, which seems fair. Craigslist'm sure it would have to pay any win, but would be a greater nuisance to coordinate payment and that sort of thing. I had also tried to put books on Amazon, but none of them are sold. I think it's because more people will buy textbooks half.com and eBay.

An airport is typically a busy place, thousands of people hanging around, tails, shopping, baggage checking, it is not surprising that scam artists use airports to find their victims. This is a quick guide to common scams and how to detect airport and avoid them.

One of the most worrying is that not all "fraud" are illegal, it is often simply a case of airport staff to take advantage of its position and been harassed to make some extra money. With a simple but lucrative conducted by desk employees is "forgetting" to restore balance luggage, then be charged extra for overweight luggage.

The beating and pushing people are sometimes inevitable in a crowded terminal, and pickpockets know it. Forget of scruffy urchins, the Oliver Twist shorts, a pickpocket could be knighted in a suit or a harmless looking young man wandering around looking at the schedule flights. Often not even feel that their nimble fingers reaching into his pocket and sliding your purse or wallet. The best way to avoid becoming a modern-day, Mr. Brownlow is to carry a dummy wallet is a pocket or handbag (try putting a note in the section of paper, saying, "Gotcha!"), and hide your wallet a site by a thief could not get it, for example, on a cord around his neck and under clothing. Credit cards and foreign currency notes, they can even be sewn in the lining of a coat for added security.

Going through the security controls remain safe from thieves. While your hand luggage is making its way along the conveyor belt for X-ray, could well be someone at the other end looking up for content. Even put your bag while you test the perfume in the duty free shop leaves content at risk of theft. The golden rule here is, never leave your luggage out of sight or hand. And do not use a backpack, is too easy for a thief to open it, grab things and run before you even realize what has happened.

Assuming you do at the airport your luggage and your money in your possession, not relax yet. Perhaps the worst of the scammers are taxi drivers, lurking outside the terminal to take the weary traveler a walk.

You are less likely to be victims of fraud if you use only official taxis parked in the bay of the license directly outside the gates. If someone comes to offer you a taxi, do not accept. They may be legitimate, but most of the time you could be in the best more the fee charged for the trip (which usually involve "the long way"). Some of these officers have been known for drivers to manage their rates on an area and assault or steal away, so be sure to always use official taxis.

But even this can not prevent some of the scams and overcharging or ask for extras such as "airport charges. You can protect against many of these scams by doing some preparation before leaving home, with an average research Taxi fares in the area, and even bus routes to avoid taxis altogether. To note the fastest way from the airport to your hotel, and if it is any toll roads. Finally, before leaving in the taxi, make sure the driver resets the meter (another money making scam) and ask them to follow the path they have drawn out. Get an estimate of the price of them and compare this with your research. If the driver sees you've done all this, are less likely to try to take a quick.

A question I have asked to do a test and I have no idea, just looking for some help. :)

Zusak uses advance. I have not read the book thief in a while, but remember that death is around a lot. The story begins in the middle or end, saying it is a story about a girl named Liesel. I mentioned something about her is in the basement. Personally, I was interested in its foreshadowing, because I wanted to know the situations that led to his being found in the basement. He wanted to know how it got to be there.
