As a literary critic classifying books I love, but try as I might I can not seem to find the right box to put in this book has some aspects of science fiction, science aspects of Fantasy, and even a little mythology, but does not really fit into any of those genres. The only thing I am sure of whether I liked reading it. The argument is simple but Lindstrom pulls off with panache so great that it can not stop loving each page.
The action takes place in Chandler, Arizona, and a less likely scenario that utopia can not think! Once homeless man wins the lottery jackpot of $ 200 million and provides for the creation of a utopian paradise, free housing, free medical, free transportation, in fact, all for free. Better yet, the company is green and sustainable. Utopia indeed.
Or a hero Larson is a rule under the achievement of the baby boom that is unemployed, unchallenged, and undervalued. A business card with the opportunity of you want the words "meaningful work?" written in the standard that is required in an odyssey of self discovery. The card has a website for SomeplacElse there that the standard views and fill the application form.
Before he knows he is beaten out of limousine for an interview, but this is an interview work like no other as he has had. There is no interest in his resume or his previous experience, in fact, there are no questions at all. People SomeplacElse want to rule for interviews. What is it that the rule would do? What is it that the standard can contribute to this society? Would you prefer to teach, invent, the manufacture, design, or lead? These questions are confusing to our anti-hero.
The temperature will go up a step, where the standard meets the founder of the organization, Mike. Part of Mike's philosophy is that anyone, including himself, should continue working in the same position for over 10 years, and his 10 years as a lawyer has expired. How that the rule as the position of Attorney? "But I'm not Mike," states the rule, "We do not need another Mike, we need a lawyer, we need fresh ideas, "is the answer.
The fly in the ointment is if the corrupt political utopian Adam Wainwright, who has her heart set on destroying SomeplacElse. Norma can save the day?
With this background Lindstrom takes us on a journey of 5 days with the bad good poetry, lyrics by David against Goliath.
I'm not usually a big fan of the books of such Sci-Fi, but Considering SomeplacElse is cut from a different piece of cloth, well worth the effort of searching. Lindstrom has a chatty style of writing that works well with the story line. I understand he has had considerable experience, but writing this is his first foray into the world of fiction. Well, I'll give you a high recommendation, and I look forward to reading more books written by him. Perhaps one of the charms for me in this book is your communication style is much like the style I write in. In fact I'll share a secret with you, writing comments that rarely refer to the author by his last name, I prefer to use the friendly name first, but I have no idea what the 'B' in BL Lindstrom means! So I apologize BL, but for this review should remain Lindstrom
