Adolescents have better things to do than read a book. This is something I have said again and again. In fact, most think. They are active in sports. They study hard and still more difficult. There is little time for a good book.
You are not doing any favors by letting them tell their children that do not have time to read. The very bright Students today are those who grew up with a book in his hand. Students who succeed academically are those who like to read. The trick is, you have to allow your child to read what they want to read but not something you want to read.
The way to encourage any young person reading a good book to ensure that the person reading a book thought to be interesting. If it's something that will be interested in reading, and then go to sit and take the time to read it. You, as a parent, you must understand that their girls would want to read a good romance and your child may want to read about the horror or some other item that does not really want to read as a teenager. Okay. While the book is an adult title targeting youth and young adults, book in hand. Let's read!
The Harry Potter books were obviously a great success among adolescents. The world Harry Potter captivated readers of all ages to explore another world. Young adults were attracted not say anything to the pages of an exciting adventure never wanted to leave. In the beginning, if you remember, Harry Potter books were controversial, but the truth is, that encouraged and inspired reading.
Since a parent, you must allow your teenager to be what they are. If you want to read science fiction and does not see the point, that's fine. If your daughter really wants to read Harlequin, search Titles that you approve. Whatever you do, encourage your teen to read and when they finally pick up a book, do not judge the title of your choice.
