In this article, I will discuss the optional accessories that are optional or do we really need. To read the previous article in this series begin with how to buy a keyboard (Part 1) in Mikes Music Room.

After reading this series, which has set its budget, he has seen and heard to your keyboard in the flesh, you have the features you want on the keyboard, so it is ready to start learning. Right? Not quite.

Now you to face the dreaded optional extra. I have a problem with the optional extras, while what is and is not necessary. An essential part of a keyboard is the power supply. Most keyboards in its price range use a plug in the power supply and because some of these keyboards can be powered by batteries, thus Some manufacturers will charge you for the power supply and call it an optional extra. In my opinion, this is very clever and very naughty. Before you commit to buy a keyboard make sure the power supply is included in the price. My view on this is that if this is a deal breaker so. Power supplies can cost around £ 25.00 and this money can be used for other items you need.

The item you need is a support keyboard unless you want to place the keyboard on the table or the floor (not recommended). Usually leaves the keys in the same place, so it is useful to have a booth. These can cost from £ 25.00 to £ 50.00 and I would recommend a height-adjustable base and not a static position. I defiantly that barter to get a job released in the price of the keyboard, always worth a try. Of course, this should not be a deal breaker is an additional support.

The above elements especially the first are important. Other less important items are a keyboard bench seating, is not essential if you have chairs at home and an adjustable keyboard support. A volume pedal and pedal, which are connected to the back of the keyboard, usually with a socket. These are rarely used. Hearing aids can be useful for family mental health during the first months of learning.

Finally, the last item on my list is optional, but I recommend you make it essential, and that's the experience the keyboard. Many music stores offer a free keyboard lesson to start. These lessons are usually lessons thirty minutes after his lecture free will cost between £ 10.00 and £ 20.00 per lesson. You also need to buy music for your classes, which again can cost £ 10.00 to £ 20.00, but this music should last six to twelve months depending on how quickly they can learn.

I hope this series of articles has given information enough to buy a keyboard and start learning. If your insurance lesson keyboard lesson 1 then prove my E-book Mikes Music Room, which will get you started and can be downloaded immediately.

Say you get a piano score, we can use the same for a keyboard?

I have not played before, I was wondering ... If you receive a score, versus the Internet, book, etc., can still be used by a key board, despite having fewer keys?

piano score may not be suitable for the keyboard as they do not have enough keys, not to mention the lack of its own dynamics (soft / hard playing), articulation (legato / staccato) and even the same weight of the keys (which is very important!). What I suggest to you is one of the following: 1. Buy a bigger keyboard (with about 7 octaves) so you can use the piano score, however more is recommended - 2. Get the same keyboard sheet music, so basically on the right side more or less the same, but the left hand is not playing individual notes, but to agree. You still have the recommended setting is 3. Buy a piano adequate (or even a piano electric) and start properly! Good luck!
