When it comes to the music of India after the Indian music is as old as religion itself. It originated in the Hindu beliefs, opinions and Vedic philosophy. Hindu music is classified into three types:
• Classical music
• devotional music and
• Other musical genres.
Classical music:
Classical music is a complete structure with 12-tone music and 7 basic swara as the most melodious Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni, Sa. Indian classical music is monophonic, formed by a single melodious raga and rhythmically followed by the beat notes or Tala. Each melody revolves around different moods or seasons and are even based on gender characteristics. So are voices ragas methods of its adoption to the different moods or behavior patterns of the day. The basic philosophy behind India Music Classic is the scope of the main goal of self-realization through meditation. It is based on Ragas and beat rhythms. Ragas are one of the acoustic methods to develop oneself to the moods and different spheres of life is a form of meditation with the goal of developing oneself closer to nature. These ragas have the innate power so that these compositions intended as an invitation to rain has been dumped sudden rainfalls.
The classical music has two basic forms:
1. Hindustani Classical Music &
2. Carnatic music
1. Hindustani Classical Music: This is caused during the 13th and 14th century AD in northern India. It originated in the Vedic philosophy and traditions of Hinduism, bears some resemblance to the music Mughal and Persian music. The version begins with an introductory aalap a short 2 minutes long piece 30-40 minutes. Rhythmically the music becomes faster and it is then joined by percussionist. The musical instruments used to make these issues more melodious are Tabla, Sitar, Taanpura, Flute and Sarangi shehnai.
2. Carnatic music has originated in southern India. The ragas in this music are short and fast. They begin with the versions that look Varnam, followed by blessings ask. Carnatic music has a more theoretical and musical structure rigid. Han ragams, rhythm beats followed by the theme of raga. Carnatic vocal music is more central. The instruments used in Carnatic music is Veena, Mridangam, Kanjira and violin.
Devotional music
Kirtans and Shiva are oral versions of items music dedicated to God. Kirtans are rooted in the traditions Vedic Bhajans other hand are more sensitive to the words that express devotion to God. Kirtans carried out along with musical instruments and Shiva are sung with great devotion with the intention of moving closer to his inner being.
Other genres:
The musical genres include folk music, regional music. Regional music is the music played through the different states of the India in different languages. Folk music is played together with different set of musical instruments.
